"And there's a smell. Something like burning. the smell of a sumer lightning-strike ten seconds after. A scent of midsummer storms and cornfields in the rain."
p92, "Chocolat" by Joanne Harris.
The girl in the photos is my friend from school, Teegan. These photographs are actually from a video I am doing for uni -If I like it enough I may post it here when it is done.
There is something nice about soft focused images. Even though it may be criticised by some professionals. I like the mood soft focus can portray. It is sort of the same allure I find in film. The images are soft-even when in focus.
I recently finished Chocolat [the book], after almost two months of slowly reading it. I had seen the movie previously, several times, and absolutely love it. And you know how somehow films/books can ruin eachother? The book and movie were both brilliant, the only difference is that the movie swapped around the events a bit, and there were extra/different characters. There are some lovely poetic things written in that book. Sadly, I didn't keep track of the pages.
