LOST IN WISHFUL THINKING

I am somewhere else

I did a little Guest Post for a Sydney blogger, Gaby, which was posted today! Her blog, This Little Port, is a lovely crafty one; so I did something on my recent craftiness with doilies... A bit different from my regular posts! Go take a look!

lunch date

Today I spent the afternoon with a lovely friend of mine, Sarah -whom I have posted photos of here before. We went to a cafe our friend works at, Dandilion and Driftwood, in Hendra. They rave about their coffee.. and I must say it was pretty yummy!

Just around the corner was the amazing caravan and car above!! So jealous. I am pretty sure this caravan  starred in Qweekend a few weeks back, and it is actually a shop that the owner takes to markets and things! which sounds like a similar idea I read about in Frankie once.. Bit of a pity that there really was no way to get rid of the "sold" sign and bins though...

We then went and did some sunglasses shopping! My last pair cost me a dollar.. and definitely looked it because they sat crookedly on my face. Thankyou Sportsgirl for fixing that problem. And I bought the new Frankie -yay!

I also popped into Kikki.K. just because it looks pretty inside, and I was extremely happy to find a 365 project book, with a page for each day's photograph!! I told Mumma she has to buy me the red one for my birthday. I am super excited now!

Have a good long weekend! I am off camping.. wish me luck. Hopefully I can put my Hillbrook skills into practice. ...

P.S. Thanks for letting me know how you drink your tea on my last post!

rain and tea and music

you are the nicest thing

It's my boyfriend's gig tonight at the X and Y Bar. It is raining, and I would much rather stay at home and have a cup of Earl Grey tea. However, I will still be on my way on the train in an hour as the supportive girlfiend :)

I love my tea black with one sugar. To think I used to drink it with milk and two sugars.. It is kind of a dramatic change.. I realised that I preferred without milk when there wasn't a carton in the fridge at work, and had to go without. Since you kindly read my tea story. I'd love to hear yours...

Edit: How embarassing.. I just realised I had already posted this photograph on the previous post.. At least this time it is a bigger size!?

Mt Tamborine

                 this tells it all
bright light coming out of the dark

My Great Uncle and Aunt live in a house surrounded by trees and paddocks on Mt Tamborine -And we spent Easter Saturday there with them. We did lots of lovely things while we were there; Jean acted as my model for many photos, we went for a short rainforest walk -and a huge leech managed to find its way on to my leg, we had a fun easter egg hunt set up by Dad, and I got to bring home a pile of at least 15 old French books of my Great Grandfather's, as well as beauttiful flowers to decorate my room with. The garden up there is beautiful -you just can't beat gardens grown in red soil.
Now I just need a seperate self for all the french books.. the titles just look so glamorous because they aren't in english...

I also madly took photographs with the Holga I mentioned recently.. I tried out some double exposures so this roll of film is definitely going to be interesting in terms of seeing the results!!

On a different note, forgive me for the inconsistent photo sizes, as some of these I uploaded straight from my computer, not from Flickr... To make up for this -and also because there are alot...- I have given little subtitles for most pictures :)

Jean was after some swampy shots..

The large property they live has a small section of rainforest that is always nice to walk to.

I had to get Jean to take a photo of me.. Since I was upset that I did not take a tripod for some selfies ;)

This is me... desperately trying to photograph myself with the beautiful petal covered ground.. although not very succesfully, as I was hindered my my 50mm prime lens... Oh well.

This is my uncle -he acts all tough, but is really lovely anyway :)

These flowers came home with me. I love Camelia's (the dark pink ones), they look so magnificent on the bush.. but sadly the majority of their petals now cover my bookcase, as they don't seem to like the idea of being placed in a vase.

Afternoon tea before coming home.

P.S. Happy Easter! Does anyone else feel nautious at the thought of chocolate around Easter, but eats it anyway??

chocolate season

i am not without scars.

I figured I should post something, seeing as it has been a week since I last did. Since last week I have become obsessed with chiffon midi skirts, polaroids and Glee.
I realised that I miss shooting film, I haven't done so in a while, so I bought some more today at Coles. I won a Holga 135bc recently (it takes 35mm film) however it was hardly what I imagined a lomo camera to be like. My biggest problem is that I find the viewfinder horrible and small to look through. I'm sure the cameras are great for other people, but I think my film camera of choice will always be my Nikon EM.. I like having more control over my image I guess.

Anyway, I must go and watch the rest of Winners and Losers (awesome show!).

have you any dreams you'd like to sell

moments like these

moments like these

After a rather average day, this little moment absolutely made my day. Darcy all curled up on the beanbag in a room by himself, nothing could be cuter right now!!

Today I also rediscovered my love for chocolate bullets.

moody

Brisbane weather is so moody at the moment. But finally, Autumn is sort of beginning here. I'm definitely enjoying being able to hang around the house in tracksuit pants and my boyfriend's jumper, although I have had it for such a long time it is probably more mine than his.

Since seeing Dallas Green on Friday night, I have come to love the band that supported him -Hey Rosetta.  They sort of sound a bit like Augie March, but still different. Plus they have a cellist. I love a bit of cello in my music! Check them out ;)

The pretty bird on the golden mile

The pretty bird on the golden mile #3 The pretty bird on the golden mile #2

This is my friend Britt, we have been friends since she was born (6 months after me). Aren't I lucky to have such a pretty looking person to hang around. We had a lovely lunch at Comfort at my Table yesterday - I recommend it! And took some photos in this park a little later on. It was really only a quick shoot- But I am super pleased with the photos :)
Will post more here, as I upload them to Flickr.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! :)

P.S. Dallas Green was amazing on Friday. I almost cried when he started because he sounded so amazing.

Now you've seen a different light.

now you've seen a different light.

So today was terribly unproductive, and I watched The Time Traveller's Wife (awesome movie, even better book), and I finished the last few of my 12 mini croissants, that I only made yesterday. It will not be a good day when my body no longer hides what I eat!

First photo from a disposable camera i bought for 1 Pound in Edinburgh, and the second shot on Boxing Day last year with my Nikon EM.

We lie awake and dream of making our escape.

[You can make it full screen, or view on Flickr if you like!]

So this is my video for Digital Media at Uni. It was a pretty awesome assignment, because it hardly had any rules except that it had to reach the one minute mark. I have posted some photos previously from the shoot. The model is my lovely friend Teegan, and the song is "Death and all his friends" by Coldplay. To be honest, I had never listened to the song before, but had it on my iPod.

I havent posted a video before, so this is something different!

at the beach

Southport.

This photo is from the beach on Saturday.

It is always a little upsetting when you buy something, and then see it cheaper somewhere else only days afterwards. I bought this new camera on Thursday from JB hifi, and today I saw the exact one $10 cheaper at Officeworks -It isn't like I didn't look around for, what I thought was, the best price.

Anyway I can't complain, because the camera -an Olympus FE 4030 - is lovely and super shiny! I bought it for days when I don't want to carry around my Nikon D90.. which is often.

Hope you had a lovely weekend!
