LOST IN WISHFUL THINKING

happy birthday post.

Happy Birthday to my little brother. Mum made him an amazing birthday cake that I enjoyed for breakfast and lunch today. Always eat dessert first!

I love birthday candles. They are so happy. Currently editing a HUGE batch of photographs from a band photoshoot, so I will say goodnight now, and post them another day!

Today before uni I got in and did a bit of the sewing I planned to do over the holidays. Meaning that I hemmed a few skirts to a nicer length. I wouldn't call myself a well-taught seamstress however; I am rather the opposite, as I lack the patience to measure things properly and just give everything a bit of a guess!
I have a sewing machine that could break your arm, but it is quite lovely, and works well. My Nan gave it to me.

Hope you all have had a lovely week so far! I am definitely looking forward to my weekend.

a thousand miles

I think once I finish this month, I will no longer post everyday's photo, because it is beginning to be quite time consuming uploading to Flickr, writing on there, and then posting on my blog. I think I might just do a monthly roundup of my favourites? And just continue posting when I have a few photos to show together.

Anyway, here are some little other random photos that I quickly snapped today!

PhotobucketI love these Babushka dolls! Or whatever you prefer to call them!?

Mum keeps out a cute little suitcase full of old postcard and brouchure treasures.

Playing with the lame tools on photoshop, and the flowers from yesterday's photo, floating in a bowl :)

Mum buys alot of old books from the Lifeline Bookfest everytime it is on. They make the bookcase look so pretty :)

about the house.

I haven't been posting many random photos from my daily life recently, and I sort of miss it. So here some are! I thought the hall was looking paticularly pretty today -possible place for future portraits? I love how the door with the glass diffuses the light!
Hope you are having a good week so far. I am already finding the evening lectures rather tedious, on the upside, I have more time in the day to take photographs.

les fleurs m'encerclent
This is sort of inspired by Andy Goldsworthy. I learnt about him ages ago, and this is sort of my first thing inspired by him.
Jean and I went to Comfort at my Table today, I have been once before. And I had the same thing I had last time, the french toast. And yet again it was awesome.

Hey! So I have to head off to Uni soon... A two hour lecture from 6-8 9 (argh) and then I am heading to the Valley to be the supportive grilfriend at her boyfriend's gig.

Today was the first time I took photos of myself outside of private property. It is at Eildon Hill Reserve, and was pretty creepy up there by myself. It used to have a nice view across the northern suburbs, but now the trees have grown really tall, so there isn't much of a view at all.
Sorry about constantly posting photos of myself.. It is just I have no other girl to photograph!

Today I found a recipe for croissants.. I want to make some soon! I definitely have not done all the baking and sewing and movie-watching I intended to do these past holidays!

The moment you leave

My dress that I am wearing has hung in my wardrobe since 2007, and now, after a few alterations (length and sleeves), I wear it. It was my  grandmother's. I quite like it!

Today my friends from school and I had a welcome home dinner at Vapiano's for a friend who has been studying/travelling abroad the past 7 months. We are so glad to have her home. However, speaking about her travels make me soo eager to go overseas, especially France and Italy again. Not to mention reading a about an American girl and her life in Paris on her blog today, and reading My Heart Wanders by Pia Bijkerk.

Another day left till I start another semester at Uni.. Otherwise, I had a wonderful day, with a wonderful person at a rather odd place. Not much time to chat, because I have yet another gig to attend. I am such a groupie.

My lovely friend, who has featured before in many photographs: here on my blog, she is in my blog-header and check out her facebook page for her performance art. Can you believe we became friends when we were 6?
We tested out a lovely little french patisserie/boulangerie today in New Farm, called Choquette. yum!

To be honest, I think I may have tried a macaron in Avignon, when I was in France... But I really can't remember! So, this was sort of my first one.

Today I bought this Konica c35 EFP camera for $6.  So excited to use it and see the results. :) Either way it doesn't matter, it just looks cool.

Today:
Listening: Adele
Googling: Nadinoo
Eating: Peanut Butter M'n'Ms

Loving today's weather, a bit windy, but was perfect for a mini picnic with my boy at QUT.
Definitely enjoying last moments of holidays.

My lips are burning with words left unsaid.

I was awake half of last night with a terrible sore throat, thankfully it has gotten better as today has progressed. I guess this has shown itself in my photographs today.

This is my last week of holidays till I go back to uni next Monday. I am not really looking forward to this semester since I have a lame timetable. But on the next break, in September, I am going to Melbourne! yay!

Heart of Joy.

Today I wanted to photograph something with happy emotions. Because that is how today was for me, along with my constant love/hate battle with my hair. I liked the two photos above together as one image, I think together they portray what I wanted.

Spent another day with my man, looking at cameras, a small bit of awesome sushi, and the new Transformers movie because we had free tickets. I was hardly impressed with the movie.

17/365

Already, I can feel a pull towards using more personal photographs to upload as my day-to-day 365 photo.
I think I won't mind though, because as much as my aim is to improve my photography whilst doing this project, I want to be able to look back on it and see something relevant to the days I took the picture, whether it is an emotion I felt, something I wished I was doing instead of working/studying, or an actually event that took place.

Above, is Jean and his grandmother. It is the only photo I took of them; I wish I shot more. She is 96 (or maybe 97...).

Today, as well as visiting his Grandma, we went to the RACQ motorfest. I love my old cars :) mainly for aesthetic reasons.

I am a Citroen driver... but mine is not cool as a Citroen DS...
