tea makes everything better.

Photobucket

After reading two other blogs this evening mentioning the new issue of Frankie magazine, I just had to sharemy love for it too -in visuals.
A little dream of mine is to work for a magazine.. I wish Frankie was based in Brisbane and did internships!

I don't know how I ever coped sitting at my desk all day long, doing assignments, without Creme Brulee tea. I think I am addicted.
I recieved this lovely teacup for Christmas last year, and only recently put it to use. I should have done so sooner! It did look pretty in my bookcase; but it is so nice to drink out of! I don't have a good track record with breakables.. So I might have to keep my eyes open for a second one!

the weight of water

the weight of water

Weather can be so fickle. These photos were taken Saturday, when I decided not to let the rain get the better of me and take advantage of the difference in weather.

I got soaking wet. However I would be happy to do it all again.

P.S. Thanks to my little brother for shading my camera with an umbrella.

a very pretty dress.

(from day 53/365)

I finally gave in to temptation. I bought a dress from Nadinoo.
On a student's budget it was probably the best idea, but I justified it to myself my saying it was a (extremely) belated birthday dress!!
Yes, I would be happy to live in it full-time. I have adopted an appreciation for liberty fabrics from my mother. And this dress has just reinforced that appreciation!

P.S. This is my 100th post! How exciting in a weird little way.

An open letter to the RNA

you've got me flying high

Dear RNA (Royal National Association),

I would like to say that you do a great job, I love the Ekka. I have to say that I am a dedicated fan; in my past 20 years, I don't think there is a year I haven't been. I have become attached to the Ekka, and your beautiful old buildings, I will be sad to see a lot of them go. In 2010 I was feeling teary when looking at the empty space where my chairlift used to be, and this year I missed my Ferris Wheel as the temporary Showbag pavillion needed to be there instead, despite this, you still are great, and I will not complain. It is because of you, that I get the chance to go all sooky over the cute little (and big) animals, wear my riding boots to fit in with all the lucky country folk and watch your brilliant fireworks. I usually really dislike crowds, but the Ekka is the one place where I can happily excuse them.

I am so disappointed that people have used the Ekka's Facebook page to complain endlessly about minor things. I think the new ice cream was AMAZING (how could you not prefer home-made over factory-made?), and I understand that you had limited space this year since renovations are being done for the old showbag pavillion -so you had to put it somewhere else (to keep all those showbag-lovers happy).

I would like to say Thankyou for putting on an amazing show for 10 days every August. I can't wait to go again next year.

Love always,
Hannah

This year I went to the Ekka twice. Sunday and Wednesday (today), I tried to take alot of photos of the buildings( or at least their insides) because at the end of a 15 year renovation period, they will all be gone.

Moustache Magazine.

Us.

I recently submitted some of my photos to a new Brisbane arts magazine, Moustache Magazine,. It is "a purely visual publication, this magazine is a platform for all the hidden and unique creative talent in Brisbane."
They have featured four of my photos in their first issue, and their Launch Party is Friday night 26th of August (click link to go to FB event).
Unfortunately I won't be attending, because I have work and need every cent I can get!

A cupcake sort of afternoon..

So on Monday afternoon I caught up with one of my dearest friends Brittney (you may recognise here from here), and we visited the Cupcake Parlour at West End. We then went on to take my photo for the day (for my 365 project).
Anyway it was a lovely afternoon, so I thought I would share a few snaps of Britt with you. Above is the image I used for my 'day's picture', it was one of the most amazing florist's I have ever been into.
