You know those photos with indoor settings placed outdoors? Yes, I love them. I don't really have the kind of furniture or car (to cart the furniture around in) to do that with, so while the council kerbside pickup is on in my suburb, I took the chance to use some furniture already placed on the footpath!

Ideally I would do this in the oval near my house.. but we weren't going to move this chair that far. Daniel had some awesome ideas for photos out on the mudflats at Sandgate.. I seriously need to start collecting prop furniture.

Britt has helped me twice with my photographs this month, both shoots with beautiful results! These photos are from a little (half-hour) shoot we did at uni one afternoon amongst the jacaranda flowers in the carpark.

I remember there was a big jacaranda tree that dropped its flowers all over our preschool, and we would thread the flowers onto little sticks.. because we thought it looked pretty.

Another year down.

So I have just completed my second year of my degree at uni. So I now only have one more year to go.I handed in my final assignments today, and headed off to celebrate in the Salvos store at Red Hill with Mum. We were heading out of the store rather reluctantly, as we hadn't found anything we liked.... But then! I found the bucket of umbrellas... awesome umbrellas.

We bought three. Bring on the summer rain!

We then headed over to visit Vinnies and Endos in Paddington, and I made Mum pose with our new umbrellas by this fantastic bougainvillea bush.

They have the most lovely little cases! and fold up in very interesting ways...

I have this huge back-log of photos I intend to post.. But I one week away from uni being finished and I am super busy.. So here is a little photo for you to enjoy from my beach day last weekend for now.

Stormy weather.

I had my fingers crossed for beach weather this weekend. However these crazy storms kept us at home.

 and I were out for a walk in the park when it came billowing across the sky at an alarming speed.

The light was oddly beautiful, dark on one side, yet bright on the other where the sky was still blue. I found myself wishing for my Dslr, and a girl to photograph..

A few last things from Melbourne:

I forgot to mention that Jean and I are obsessed with Orange Mocha Frappacino's from Starbucks.

I bought a pretty book with flower pictures in it.

I bought a pretty flower painting.

And we went to three different Photobooths and took pictures in there.

 

Melbourne Day Five

So this was the last day of our little trip.. I was sad to leave! The wind was very persistent all day and I wished I had brought a scarf. We met up with friends of Jean who had flown into Melbourne the night before and we spent the day with them, which was lovely!

We sat on the City Circle tram and rode around to the north of the city, hopped off, and walked towards Lygon St. We had a yummy lunch at Amigo's, went to a lovely book store (where I bought a cool book that I will tell you about soon), and then went to Koko Black where they serve all things chocolatey inside a super beautiful building with nice couches and lights!
