Mt Tamborine; part 2

Photobucket

As a photographer I have always admired Country Style magazine for its impeccable photography of beautiful houses around Australia; and every issue fills me with a desire to photograph for the magazine, just so I can enter those beautiful houses. Next to my Aunt and Uncle at Mt Tamborine is the sweetest little house, with a sweet lady living inside it. Sue's place has a garden fulls of blooms and gnomes, and the house is filled with odd things that all seem to match. So I got into my "country style photographer" mode and took many, many photos! Her house has featured before in the Gold Coast bulletin.

{warning: this post is super photo-heavy}

Thankyou Sue for letting me into your lovely house. x PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

P.S. Anyone care to recommend me to Country Style magazine? It would totally be appreciated :)

Mt Tamborine; part 1

joyful
On Saturday I spent the day at Mt Tamborine, on the property that my Great Aunt and Uncle live on. It is one of my favourite places for many reasons. I have been imagining photographs amongs dandilions for at least a month now, so you can imagine my delight when we drove round the driveway and saw the paddock looking magnificently yellow. My brother and I went on a photo adventure through the paddocks and trees, navigating around the bees, picking wild rasberries and climbing fences. With myself as my only available model, prepare for many more self-portraits. And, more photos of this dress, which I have been photographed wearing several times in recent posts -It is too effortless to wear.

I consider myself very lucky to have such a beautiful place to retrreat to, sadly I don't get to visit often enough. Thankyou Aunty Joan and Uncle Phil :)

P.S. Whilst there, I had the pleasure of photographing about the next-door neighbour's house. So stay tuned for a seperate post on that. where no one knows my name

On Thursday, it was was overcast, and I wore a cardigan over my dress -weird for almost-summer weather!
Mum and I spent the morning at Queensland Art Gallery, admiring the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson, and sitting on the lovely seats above whilst eating yummy sandwhiches. We then walked till we could walk no more about the city. Simple photos, but I really like them.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend, I have so many more photos to show you soon!

a little vintage anyone?

I dare you to let me be your one and only
I would like to be one of those girls who wander about everday looking effortlessly fabulous in their vintage dresses. However to get a nicely-priced vintage dress that isn't from the 80's is hard in Brisbane. I am hanging out for a fancy occasion so that I can buy one of the pristine condition vintage dresses from Retro Metro. That shop is so good it is cruel.

Today, lost for what to photograph, I pulled out a dress that was my grandmother's. Most of the dresses we have from her don't fit me, this seems to be the one exception. I have never actually worn it before.. but I think I may have to more often.
